The view from the balcony was absolutely amazing! The ability to go out on a kayake from the property to explore the oceans canal was accommodating The pool was super clean with towels on hand The room was super clean and the beds were amazingly comfy, so comfy I didn’t want to get out of it in the morning

Easy check in and check out Thanks for a great stay!

The Ogunquit River Inn was a great spot for a jump off point to explore the Ogunquit/ Wells/ Kennebunkport area It’s close to everything, but just far enough to stay out of the crowdsThe rooms are clean and more than adequate, the staff is eager to please, the property is well kept and picturesque and the prices are just right

Sarah Smith (Sarah)

The room that I got only is able to be entered by a sliding door outside which has its pros cans cons it is good for safety but you have to walk to the back of the building The beds were quite comfortable, the room was set up nice the shower was actually not musty and had good water pressure The sink area had a nice mirror with LED lights

There was no closets but there was a caddy area that held towels, blankets, pillows and could hold a suit case There was also a mini fridge and a kurig with k cups in the room which was nice The view of the rivers sometimes looked like a swamp when the tide was low but there was lots of birds and greenery You can also rent a kayak for money In the morning you can get coffeetea, pound cake, and apple, raspberry, cheese, and cinnamon danishes There is also caramel and hazelnut syrups for your coffee But there was no other breakfast items, so don’t get your hopes up There is a out door pool that ranges from 3-9ft deep It is heated and so refreshing when it is hot out There is horsefly’s that bite so watch out for that, and make sure to pack bug spray because there is SO many mosquitoes The staff was nice and the place was clean the pool area also has cabanas which provide nice shade I did not see any hot tub Housekeeping came while we were gone and restocked towels coffee and vacuumed which was a surprise to come back to There is lots of stores and restaurants close by In all i would recommend this hotel

This place is beautiful! The rooms were great, and the location is perfect Just to point out, each room is decorated differently, and Housekeeping only cleans your room before and after your stay and will not come in during your stay The rooms are like a little home near the beach

We booked on a third party site and unfortunately I missed a small detail and the room wasn’t the one I wanted…we have stayed there before so I immediate caught the error My advice to travelers is spend the money for the premium rooms, they are nice 🙂

The wonderful lady at the desk jumped right in to help with a solution for us (2 couples-2rooms) She could have been really impossible and dismissive of the issue, but her genuine ability to work through an amicable solution started our trip out right We have stayed here probably 10 times over the years and continue to go back Easy walking (maybe 1/4 mile to center of Ogunquit), but what we love most is indoor/outdoor pool (both are nice) and a hot tub Lesson learned for me (to ensure I stay on hotel site when I book that I am more familiar with and miss clicking on a room I didn’t want) but it all ended well in the end I feel embarrassed I missed her name, but she is an absolute asset to this hotel Thank you again for giving us a great night away and working hard to keep your guest coming back!!!

We stayed here for our min-moon and it was the best experience ever! Ryan goes out of his way to make you feel like family! We were fortunate enough to experience a private farm-to-table dinner experience that we will never forget Ryan is a trained chef and blew us away with his food pairings! Not to mention breakfast at the inn every morning was to die for Ryan truly cares about QUALITY

And quality you will find with everything from the bedding, to soaps, to food, to people! My husband loves bees and he even provided a bee experience! This is truly a special place and we cannot wait to return for murder mysteries or other experiences they have down the road We cannot say enough about how truly special this place is, and that’s because of the excellent people behind the vision Oh they even have postcards so we got to mail ourselves a nice note from Maine to remember the occasion! Book now! Thank you so much for being YOU and giving us an experience we will never forget!!

Michael LaCorte

My fiancé and I recently stayed at the Lady Mary Inn for a last minute getaway and we were so happy that we did! It is easily one of the nicest bed and breakfasts we have stayed in The moment you pull into the driveway you are greeted by the owners, Ryan and Steve, with the backdrop of a stunning Victorian home behind them When you walk inside, you feel like you are transported back in time

The home is grand and includes architectural and design details that you just don’t see in modern homes Our suite (Dogwood) was beautiful, comfortable and clean The breakfast that Ryan prepared for us was amazing Thank you Ryan and Steve for being such great hosts! We will be back

Molly Field

If you are looking for the ultimate Maine bed and breakfast experience, look no further My partner and I booked last-minute on our way to a wedding further north in Maine, and our brief stay had us completely infatuated by the Lady MaryFans of fine homes will find not only a spectacularly maintained estate, but an ongoing restoration handled with such love and attention to detail

The same love and attention to detail is evident in every inch of the Inn; from the curated décor, to the flourishing houseplants, to the gallery of diverse artwork representing local artists, to the incredible breakfast fashioned from entirely local and home-grown ingredients The owner/operators are extremely knowledgeable about the history of the home and passionate about engaging with the community Their passion is infectious, their Inn is beautiful, and their two Boxer pups are very, very sweet The Lady Mary is such a nice experience, and truly an incredible value Had we known how magical a place this is, we would have made it the focal point of our trip

We were traveling to Ogunquit for the first time and didn’t know the area We chose Ogunquit Hotel and Suites based on location and availability It turned out to be an amazing location and a great place to stay

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the huge pool and hot tub, and the convenience of the location The only downside was the game room The kids tried to go there to play games but the machines didn’t work This didn’t matter to us as we’d rather swim and do other things anyway Overall, when we go back to this area again, we would gladly stay here again!

B.F. Maine

Very nice hotel with a great location and thin thin walls I stayed in a king bed room The hotel looks and feels new and clean

No stray hairs or any other issues that are found at so many hotels Bathroom was very nice as well My only issue is that the walls are super thin I could hear my neighbors conversation word-for-word, including her speakerphone call, where I could hear the caller word-for-word as well Luckily they went to bed and woke up at reasonable times, but different people staying there or kids, it would have been probably too much to sleep

SilentBob02

I was travelling with a buddy of mine and reserved a room with 2 queen beds weeks in advanced in order to ensure one would be available After a long days drive, the hotel clerk informed me that the room we were staying in had a king bed and a sofa bed When I showed her my e-mail confirmation showing the 2 queens, the only explanation I got was that these mixups happen sometime and the 2 queen rooms were all booked but that, ” there ARE 2 beds

” I was furious but it was late and I just wanted to get to sleep So we paid for a room in advanced and one of us ended up having to sleep on a couchI do want to say, on a very positive note, that the breakfast staff was amazing They were very kind and attentive and really made me smile just by being very cheery and attentive Those ladies were wonderful and there was a wide selection of foodsI just wish the room situation didn’t leave such a sour taste in my mouth

Stayed here sometime agoPros:Love this historyOwner spent time explaining historyCons:Owner asked our children and us to try and leave earlier than checkout (11 AM) because she had a lot of people checking in and needed to get started cleaning

Very awkward and not at all appropriateOur party felt rushed after breakfast and instead of being able to relax for an hour or so after eating, we rushed to get ready and get outOwner stated she had no knowledge of any transportation services in the local area and that taxi services were unreliableOwner also stated she didn’t know of any places which delivered foodHow do you run a b&b and not know this, and at least have some suggestions on hand to give to guests when needed? The cookies they leave for guests to enjoy (very sweet of them) had flies all over them Should be covered while sitting aroundDid not have any water on hand Just sodas and juice drinks, and alcohol for purchaseDid not make up the room during our stayFelt owner had a bit of a curt way about herNot terribly impressed with experience but didn’t despise it either

Never judge a book by its cover, when we first arrived we were a little questionable as we were recommended to stay here by a patient The price of the stay was reasonable, the location is near everything you need food, shops etc Now we did visit during off season so a lot of shops were closed

But the hotel was clean, friendly staff, I enjoyed the Roman spa the most The beds were comfy the bathrooms were updated I would love to return during the On season Will recommend and return myself with family

Ashley Johnson

Good location The beds were comfortable, and the room was large The hotel is taken care of nicely

The amenities around the buildings are lovely, with many areas to sit outsideWe stayed in a handicap-accessible room The bed is very high, and the door going into the building doesn’t open all the way, so it was hard to get the wheelchair or the walker through I scraped my arm twice, getting my gram through The bed doesn’t allow the bathroom door to open all the way either, causing the same issueAlso, I was never given back my ID after checking in I did not receive a phone call or anything to let me know I didn’t notice until over halfway home, and when speaking to the front desk, I was lied to about it I will also be charged for it to be mailed to me I could see this being the policy if I left something in the room Just not the best customer service practicesAll in all, we had a nice stay but will not return

Margaret Becirevic

It really is pretty and great for folks with kids as it has a couple of pools but, from the minute I got to the main desk I was disappointed 1desk person kept telling me she couldn’t check me in she was busy then helped the next person who came in while I was standing there waiting She actually did this twice

The pub is really a cafeteria with a bar in it It wasn’t relaxing or comfortable, the AC was so high I had to move my chair The room was clean but we didn’t sleep at all because the beds were very uncomfortable The pillows are very nice The room AC died We slept with the slider to the balcony open for air The complimentary breakfast was danish and coffee Only ice water for kids Overall, it’s a nice place they just need to fix a few things

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the newly opened White Sails Inn in Kennebunk (it was called the Elizabeth Rose when I booked but had changed names by the time I arrived!) The inn has been totally refurbished and looks fantastic It even has a bar for an early evening/late night drink

The owner Armand went out of his way to make me and my parents feel welcome He was a really super host! And the breakfast was delicious too Overall, staying here was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in Maine!

This was our favorite place to stay but after numerous bad stays we no longer go there The hotel allows drunken guests to party in the hallways and doesn’t do anything to get unruly guests to be quiet Recently we contacted the hotel to see if anything has changed on unruly drunken guests and I was told they didn’t want to make them leave even though they wake up all paying guests

Noticeable dosh has been funneled into improving room conditions, flooring, and balconies Supremely welcoming front desk assisted with furnishing a “Pack n’ Play” for our wee one Private balconies offer incredible ON THE BEACH views that other establishments fail to provide

The beach itself was inviting without an obnoxious amount of people You’ll certainly pay for your spontaneity with some alarmingly potent seasonal rates, however This facility is regrettably NOT handicap friendly as wellPro-tips: The spaces adjacent the front offices are available for use during your stay Be mindful of the rear staircases towards the ocean on particularly sunny days especially when barefoot!

Matt Roe

Located right on Wells Beach The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable which made for an even better stay Upon arriving at check in the kind staff upgraded us to a suite which had even more space

I assume it was because she notice we had two young children with us Lots of great restaurants nearby Overall great stay and would stay again

Overall, the Anchorage is a nice place to stay, but I do feel it is a bit overpriced for what you get For the same amount of money you can get flight and hotel to some other destinations for around $300 more The pool area is nice, but is very crowded as the pools are not that big

The thing is, there aren’t many places with pools in OGT, especially on the marginal wayThe room we stayed in, in the towers, was a little smaller than a standard hotel room You could not set the air conditioning unit to your desired temperature, the toilet was a bit loose and the soundproofing between floors was not great Additionally, the air conditioner was loud and would turn on and off throughout the night, waking you up You could not keep the AC fan on, which would have been enough white noise to drown out the people above usWhile I understand they are trying to keep non-guests away from the pool area, I felt uneasy at the pool and on the grounds as they are constantly “patrolling” This can make it difficult to relaxFor some bright spots: the location is beautiful and the grounds are meticulously kept The reception staff are all very nice There are only a handful of hotels on the marginal way If you want to be on the marginal way and have a pool, there aren’t many other options Overall it feels like a five start location with a three star hotel in terms of value and overall experience

Awesome location right on Marginal Way The rooms are clean and nicely furnished The hot tubs and pools are open late, which is a great perk

The staff is awesome, very friendly and accommodating They have live music on certain nights during the summer, and nothing beats watching the sunset from the lawn No matter where you stay on this property (there are multiple buildings), you’re bound to love it

Great spot and amenities Had some good service and some poor service Rooms are not worth the price

This place charges extra for everything Anyone over 3 is considered an adult in the room and has an extra cost The worst part was the constant scrutiny felt while staying here There was security everywhere and not for safety of the guests To catch people doing things that they can charge more for It was very hard to relax when the pool attendants are constantly checking wristbands and front staff is watching cameras of all parts of the resort Not sure I will return Definitely not worth the cost

We stayed in a queen room on the second floor and although the bed was very noisy, we had a great stay The room is very small but we expected the size with an historical inn built in 1799 We were also made aware by a note in the bathroom that the water takes a while to heat so that wasn’t a surprise at all

I loved the fact that the inn is historic and even has a resident ghost, Silas! I was disappointed to learn the restaurant wasn’t open during our stay, we missed it being open by a day, but I’ve read great reviews and hope to try it again on another trip to the area My husband and I sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch and watched the world go by Needless to say it was very relaxing Parking was directly behind the inn and the ease getting to the room was appreciated My only recommendation is to provide a cooling fan for the rooms We were there the second week of May and it was unseasonably warm during the day so the room was a bit hot We left the windows open and when night came, our room was very cool Overall, a great stay

We thoroughly enjoyed a work dinner here a few weeks ago Our servers were attentive and friendly and the food was amazing We loved the tater tots–try them, it might sound dubious at first, but they were easily our favorite appetizer! We got to meet Nick, the chef, before our dinner and we were impressed by his manner as well as his cooking

Maybe we’ll get to stay sometime and enjoy the inn, but so far, we highly recommend the restaurant!PS Also loved the historical character and nods to the past left in the building Will be back!

I had dinner at The Tavern and it was excellent I had the crab stuffed citrus ravioli and it was topped with succulent shrimp and mussels I also found the perfect wine to pair with my meal, on their great wine list

Dessert was a creamy salted caramel cheesecake that was just mouth watering! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable And the service by Deb was fantastic! I’ll definitely be back!

The location of the Abalonia Inn was perfect for Ogunquit Beach, restaurants and shopping It was a picturesque experience in a New England town full of charm Everything is right outside your door here

I stayed in Room #8 and the size of the room felt spacious to move around in The bathroom was a very good size with a stand- up shower and it was nice to have a window for ventilation This was a corner unit that had views of the main road There is a small closet perfect for hanging up your clothes and a small dresser if you decide to unpack There was a good size refrigerator in the room if you wanted to bring wine/ champagne or store any leftovers from restaurants With the air condition running at night, I didn’t hear my next door neighbors For outdoor amenities I enjoyed the heated salt water pool There is also an in-ground hot tub Adirondack chairs and a fire pit to enjoy the evenings Service was friendly and suggestive for things to do in town The main office opens up at 8:00am and has muffins from a local bakery and coffee that are provided The owners were so nice to allow us to leave our car in the parking lot on the day of check- out while we went to the beach for a couple hours Would definitely come back and stay here again

Wonderful location, beautiful hotel, the rooms are very nice, pool area is very enjoyable with a hot tub Overall I really enjoyed the time I spent at this hotel The people that work there are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Wells, Maine and I must say this is going down as one of the best I still call Layfette Ocean Front Resort the best hotel in Wells, Maine because it’s directly at the ocean and the workers are so nice and helpful, but Sea Mist I do recommend to anyone vacationing in Wells, Maine

Stephanie Memoli

We stay here every year for the past 10+ years The rooms are large and clean There is a small kitchenette which is super convenient

They have recently upgraded to larger smart TVs so we can watch NETFLIX, YouTube, Hulu or any other service If it rains there is an awesome indoor pool and hot tub There is not a better place to stay for the price We will be back again next year!

Kallah Ecklund

Clean room, friendly staff, and great parking Very happy that they were a pet friendly place for us to go with our dog No elevator to the second floor had to lug coolers and suitcases up and down the stairs

We knew there was a kitchenette but we’re not expecting no stove or hot plate We had a small dorm sized refrigerator and microwave Full set of dishes, bowls, glasses and utensils along with serving utensils or provided

Sharing is caring!
