Sometimes we give a five star review not because the resort was perfect but because of the way the management dealt with its own imperfections Hawk is just such an example We had stayed here twice before and loved it

This last time we had some problems with the home we had rented When we reported them to the management we were dealt with in a way that spoke volumes about the level of customer satisfaction that Hawk strives to achieve Our concerns were dealt with graciously and very generously We just couldn’t have asked for or expected a more forthright and solicitous response AMAZING! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wonderful resort where you are treated so well and with a sincere desire to make your stay as comfortable as possible We look forward to our return trip Many, many thanks!

Beautiful, comfortable, quiet, gorgeous, immaculate

all the adjectives! We stayed a spring weekend and the place was almost empty The staff were friendly and helpful The room was excellent, particularly the comfortable bed and spacious bathroom The grounds are beautiful as well, with great walks on country lanes The place is perfect for a couples getaway or a group The riverside and bridge would be perfect for a weddingThe only con is the somewhat dated decor, if that is important to you Definitely worth the few minutes’ drive if Okemo is your destination

Alecia Armstrong

We were staying at a cottage by the marina in summer 2010 and decided to drop in for dinner one night The food was good and the waitress, we believe she was Swedish, was absolutely fantastic A few days later my friend and I thought it would be nice to go to the spa and get a pedicure

We didn’t get any service and the girl at the front desk couldn’t have been more apathetictoo bad! A beautiful spot, needs someone to train front desk staff in sales

My husband and I stayed at the Snowed Inn for four nights We can’t recommend this beautiful Inn enough We were greeted warmly by the staff on check-in

Our room was cozy and clean The common room fireplace, freshly baked cookies, wine bar & snacks were all wonderful Each morning, a freshly made breakfast was brought to us at the time we chose in the dining room The private time for the hot tub was really lovely, especially after a long day on the slopes! Ken and Carolyn were so attentive and they genuinely care about their guests We can’t wait to come back to Killington We absolutely will be staying here again!

The Snowed Inn is the cutest B&B and I wish we had stayed longer than one night! The staff was so welcoming and the atmosphere of the rooms and the entire inn was so cozy The fresh, made to order breakfast was delicious and you choose what time you want it to be set out for you Hot tub, fresh cookies and a bar are the perfect additions to make you feel like you don’t even need to leave! Owner was awesome and sat down with us at breakfast

Overall, an awesome stay!

Over all the please was very nice and well kept, however there were some minor things in our particular room that were irritating such as toilet with inability to flush properly, The shower head was not fully functional and the remote controls were left by the previous patrons with no batteries and were not replaced These are minor things and obviously not the same in every room and that is why I can still give it 4 out of 5 stars

Anton S

Upon arriving at our room, we found an icy dark parking lot After driving for over 4 hours, we then had to call the main office to figure out how we were supposed to get into our room It turns out that the office is about 3 miles away and nobody had the courtesy to let us know

Once we finally found the main office in a confusing maze of buildings the receptionist told us to call her if we were not satisfied with our roomwe were advertised and sold a deluxe suite which was supposed to contain a king size bed, a fire place, a large flat screen tv, a rainfall shower, and much more When we walked in our room it was honestly a joke The only thing updated was the kitchen, past that was just filth The carpet appeared as if it hadn’t been vacuumed and felt damp The wallpaper was peeling in spots and had water stains The bed was not a king, and next to the bed was the “heating unit” stuck in the wall with exposed copper pipes The bathroom wasn’t even fit to wash my dog in No rainfall shower, just a a yellowed tub No fireplace in sight The tv was older than me and hard to see it was so small Even the paintings on the wall were horrifying It was a dark ominous roomWhen I called the receptionist she told me to deal with Expedia to try and resolve this which in turn left us without a place to stay when we were supposed to be having a great vacation I would rather have slept in the car than pay premium pricing for motel 6 quality Eventually Expedia found us a much nicer room elsewhere for 1/3 the price Thanks

Pictures don’t give this justice Beautiful atmosphere Perfect for Weddings! Out back has tables for dinning, pool, and oversized chest game with piece’s half my size lol how cool

There rooms sparkle The staff is friendly and family like I found that comforting And inside there is a large hot tub and pub And close to the slopes! Can’t wait to book a stay with my family

Michelle B

This was the coolest place, so beautiful! We stayed here on our way through town, wish we would have had another night to enjoy the area and premises more We loved the food and bar, and talking with the local regulars The rooms were basic, but just what we needed for the night, and what you’d expect a ski lodge to be

Overall we would definitely stay here again!

Victoria Busch

We have been staying at the Summit during ski season for the last five years The staff was wonderful and yes the rooms are dated but always clean The salt water hot tub is amazing

Prices have gone up I get it BUT there is no more coffee bar for early morning which I absolutely loved !! And the deal breaker is no breakfast !!! Their idea of breakfast consists of bagel toast cereal and yogurt 😏unfortunately hubby is gluten free and certainly wouldn’t survive a ski day on yogurt ! Not to mention the price includes breakfast !!! Understanding times are different but a ski lodge needs a decent breakfast!!! We are not giving up but would hope to see improvement soon !

Let me start by stating this weekend had to be planned in order for me to visit so that my father could be buried after having passed away suddenly at the age of 55, so this was the wrong weekend to have these experiencesI usually stay across the street at the Days Inn, decided to try the Hampton this time and was hugely disappointed On Night one, 2 cars were blocking the handicap entrance to the sidewalk, I notified management and they went out to look yet the cars were still parked there all night

I have a 95-year-old grandmother who could not climb up the sidewalk and was thus essentially stranded in the lot, I also had 2 strollers that could also not make it up onto the sidewalk These cars were parked across the lines of their spots and blocking the diagonal lines indicating no parking there, it was an orange Mitsubishi and a Silver sedanInstance number 2, on the back side of the lot where I had been parking there was a large Ford F350 towing a rather large cargo trailer, all in all they blocked 7 spaces that were rendered unusable As previously stated, I was with my 95-year-old grandmother who could not walk long distances and the back door was easiest accessible to our room, yet this truck and trailer blocked 85% or more of those back spaces that were not labeled Diamond member or handicap Any time I have had an issue at Days Inn it was handled immediately, and I felt as though issues were not of any importance to night shift hereApparently, these customers must have paid some sort of importance luxury fee as my stay, cost me over $62100 and my concerns and issues were brushed aside for these royal guestsWe had a trip planned for October 14-28, 2022, and while I was planning Hampton Inn, it now appears I will have to shift plans as some customers are more important than others, and I will still have my 3 infants with strollers and my 95-year-old grandmother who will have turned 96 by thenIt really stinks because the gentleman who checked me out Monday morning was super nice the whole couple of minutes I spoke with, but besides that this visit was a catastrophe from a hotel standpoint

The lady at the front desk was awesome I think her name is Becky Got there super early because I traveled overnight and she did her best to get me in a room

The room was so clean, bed and pillows were extremely comfortable The bathroom was spotless My fear when going to hotels, is a dirty bathroom But I had no issues here Breakfast was also great, eggs were properly prepared I wish I could give more than 5 stars

Michael Nixt

Super friendly staff The rooms were super clean, even as the employees still joked about the disgusting bowling teams that left the rooms an absolute mess Great sense of humor regardless, and I am glad they took it in stride

Breakfast was good, plentiful and had a wide selection of foods to choose fromI will be returning in the future provided I can get it at a fair price during the ski season!

Fast and easy check in ✔️ Even though busy, the staff is helpful efficient and friendly Room was clean with everything tidy

Bed and bedding was super comfortable 👌 within walking distance to several places to eat and convenient stores Hot tub and pool was available indoors but only until 9pm 🙁 Rutland Vermont is beautiful! Great rates, i will be back again Thank you Tell your employees that they are doing a great job! Beautiful view was a bonus!

Great Resort / Hotel Awesome heated pool and hot tubs and spa area with gym, sauna and steam room Easy access to skiing with a quick walk across the pedestrian bridge to the Snowshed base area

Our only complaint was that the Murphy bed in our studio suite was not very comfortable Otherwise great experience and we came at the perfect time – lots of snow but not terribly cold and almost the entire mountain / trails were open Well groomed The skiing was excellent

Nilufer Usta

Ski in and out (kind of – you have to walk over the bridge) Definitely the place to stay when in Killington The proximity to Snowshed and to the lifts make it very convenient

We stayed at a studio with a Murphy bed The only complaint I have is the smell in the room A combination of disinfectant and humidity Having said that it is still the place to stay You can enter the hot swimming pool right from the spa Then you can jump in one of the two hot tubs next to the swimming pool Sitting in the hot tub and watching the mountains behind a curtain of steam is what you need after a taxing day of hardcore skiing Oh if you forget your bathing suit, not to worry The spa has some for you to buy The staff is friendly and very helpful

Antenna Wilde

In the Wilde room on Saturday 11:30 – 2ish, the staff manning the buffet were very unfriendly Hardly any eye contact, dismissive They made us feel like we were imposing on them

To be frank, they came across as hating their jobs (and/or resenting us for being well-off?) The truth is, we were coming from a funeral and had splurged on the event Personally I am quite poor and appreciate those who work in the service industry, as I am also in the service industry, but not here They made us feel very unwelcome, and it was actually uncomfortable returning to the buffet for something else to eat I never said anything to anyone, and would not have made this review until after speaking with my wife today, who mentioned how miserable they seemed, and how uncomfortable she was tooIt is indeed difficult to find good help these days, and I sympathize with the management at the Grand Resort, but hope they can effectively convey to these staff members what their job actually IS Their job is to be kind, helpful, and attentive, not condescending and resentful They didn’t know us at all, yet seemed to pass judgment without a word exchanged If they had an open mind and engaged in conversation, they might have found us to be good people who appreciated what they were hired to do for us Instead they left us feeling undeserving of their food, which was actually quite good

I love this place I hiked the Long Trail over 20 years ago and stopped here as a through-hiker for breakfast and to take a shower & rest, so it was so nice to visit this place again! We stayed for the whole weekend and I was so happy to discover when making the reservations, that they have dog friendly accommodations in their suites! We had a one bedroom suite and it was lovely In the main Inn building they have a game / reading room, another large sitting room where you can drink coffee and read or visit with friends, a restaurant (with a killer breakfast!!) and a pub that has live music on the weekends

We stayed in the building attached to the main building, where they have suites that are dog friendly Keep in mind this is a rustic inn, so don’t think suite at the Marriott, it’s more like drive-up motel meets log cabin Every single person we encountered that worked at the Inn, restaurant, or pub were ALL super nice and welcoming And I know from past experience that they are super nice to through-hikers This is a family run business that’s been around for decades Whether you’re hiking, skiing, or just visiting Vermont, if you’re into the rustic in type feel I highly recommend this place

Alanna Scully

I truly adore this place I discovered it a few months ago while I was in Killington for my job, and after spending an evening in McGrath’s Irish Pub (located inside the inn), I decided it’s where I wanted to spend Paddy’s Day I’m so glad I did, and that I booked two nights at the inn

They had great bands, and it is really a family run business through and through Everyone who works here is fantastic Pam, Anne, Bob, Dan, Murray, Patty I wish I had gotten every single person’s name because everyone was wonderful Highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance!

Laura Wagner

Stayed here in June 2022 when I was hiking in the area Room was so comfortable and clean, rate was so reasonable and included the most awesome breakfast in the morning The restaurant and attached pub were perfect and the Shepards pie was amazing

I really enjoyed this place and talking to all the LT and AT thru hikers and someday when I hike the LT I will definitely be back Hands down will stay here again and looking forward to it

Awesome customer service!!! We had booked a basic room due to budget but then called to see what kind of rate we could get for a king suite and they by far gave is an amazing deal The staff is very friendly and the room was beautiful This is our favorite little get away

Very nice heated pool The room has a nice big jacuzzi tubing it beds very comfortable the room very cozy!!

Igor K

Customer service is bad!I booked the room for a three-night (Feb 18, 19 and 20 2022) As we arrived I decided to stay two nights only and asked to cancel the reservation of Feb 20 2022, the guy from the reception told me that “it is no problem”, as long as I will check out until 11 am Sat Feb 19 I did so, checked out on Feb 19, 10 am, and returned the keys to reception, I was told “all done” the one-night refund will be applied

I waited 2+ months and didn’t get the refund, I contacted the hotel, they said no relevant records on my account and they can’t refund 🙁 Very disappointing !!!

Don Windrem

Slightly dated hotel and room, and the beds are noisy but everything was working when we went and the staff was nice, polite and accommodating Pool was between 102 and 105 when we were there which was fantastic The gym was better than you would expect

The restaurant was not open but the bar is open on weekends Overall, North Star was a really nice stay Thank you!

Our first time visiting Vermont and we stayed at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort and we were blown away by it Location is beautiful, staff super friendly, and the room was excellent We were upgraded to a superior room and the view to the mountains and lake were exceptional

Breakfast was tasty, big portions! Staff were very accommodating and service was quick and friendly We even went for a swim at the beach as we normally do wild swimming at home If we’re ever back in VT to visit friends I wouldn’t bother to look for anywhere else to stay This place is perfect

Rob .Hammock

My wife and I have stayed at/dined at Mountain Top on many occasions and have never been disappointed Starting with the staff, we have always found them to be friendly, professional and competent If there is an issue, they will do whatever it takes to solve it

The accommodations are always very nice Clean and comfortable and the views spectacular When dining, we have never been disappointed with the food nor the service If weather permits, I highly recommend dining outside on the patio The view will take your breath away If you are there in the winter, the sleigh ride is a definite must We will definitely be returning in the future to this Vermont gem

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding experience at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort Chelsea is the most calm and organized coordinator She was so responsive and made sure we did what we wanted through all the planning

We couldn’t have done it without her help! Gayle from Meadows Edge Floral Design on site made the most gorgeous arrangements and reception for us! She followed my vision and I can’t thank her and her team enough You can’t beat the views at this venue it is STUNNING! Everyone was raving about their meals and service The shuttle drivers are so sweet and everyone else who helped make the day perfect Our guest said this was the best and most smooth wedding they have ever been too This place is heaven Thank you Mountain Top for the best day ever ❤️

This was perfect for our quick overnight stop on our drive from Bar Harbor to Philadelphia The people at the front desk were so welcoming and inviting The rooms and bathrooms were super clean

The bathrooms were a little outdated, but that was no problem for us because they were still super clean and in perfect working order The design of the hotel, with separate buildings kind of like a lodge, provided a lot of privacy The breakfast was really delicious, especially the waffles and the coffee

PeterJ Romano

Quiet, clean amenities Friendly and highly knowledgeable and helpful staff, Sam gave us so much info and background about the area, places to go/see, things to do! Amazing fellow, really should be a tour guide (Thanks Sam!) Steve at the front desk is also an artist and his nice paintings are on display in the dining area! You helped make our visit to the area even nicer guys!!

Sheri Deerhake

I gave 2 stars because it was clean The room/bathroom was good sized, beds were comfortable, and it is unique in that it’s more like small apartment buildings spread around a nice common area Without these things, the rating would have been 1

The mini fridge in the room didn’t work They sent a maintenance man who fiddled around with it, reset the breaker, and said he thought it would be OK It wasn’t About an hour later, another maintenance man showed up with no warning, checked it out, and said that it was old and temperamental and would need more work than he could do then Duh It makes no sense to me that the room was even rented when one of the amenities obviously didn’t work There was no offer to bring us a new fridge (not a difficult thing to do for anyone who can carry 40ish#- unplug it, take it out, bring in the new one, plug it in) or give us a different room The hotel was obviously not full When checking out, I went to the vending machine for some cold pop The selection was low and limited I put a $20 in and was given $17 in quarters I then went to the front desk and the receptionist wasn’t going to switch it to bills for me I was flabbergasted! She was on the phone forever before even greeting me and then she flatly refused to take the quarters When I told her there wouldn’t have even been an issue if the fridge in our room had worked, she started to be more helpful and suddenly found some quarter rollers, which once I put the change in, she did exchange it Then she apologized for the inconvenience and said that she would give us a discounted rate for the room Fifteen minutes later after a bunch of tapping on the keyboard, and chatter about the process not working for some reason, etc, I left without a discounted rate and feeling decidedly grumpy The overall experience was just not worth the room rate As an aside, the restaurants in the area close early, only one offered delivery, and for some reason 2 of them seemed to have their phones off the hook for more than the 15 minutes that we tried to call and place an order for pickupUpdate: After posting this review, the manager left a message for me to contact him I left 2 messages for him, both with no response 3 strikes, you’re out

I booked a stay here over Memorial Day weekend and it was an absolute delight! The inn is beautiful, a mix of old charm with very tasteful and appropriate updated interiors We stayed in a suite with a soaking tub and WOW, what a treat 😁 I loved the breakfast each morning (had a different one each day!) and especially the A+++ server; a fantastic start to each of our days in Vermont We will definitely be staying here again in the future as it’s family friendly, cozy, and has everything you need

The family of innkeepers are fantastic and truly take pride and care of their inn and it’s guests

The Vermont Inn has become a family tradition! My husband and I have stayed in a variety of rooms and every time has been a great experience The owner and staff are wonderful and everyone is super kind and welcoming We had a small car accident during our last stay and the owner Kayla did all she could do accommodate us

We really love this place and would give it more stars if we could

Had a great Independence Day weekend at the Vermont Inn The Inn is perfectly situated between all that Killington has to offer and anything needed in the retail world in nearby Rutland

The staff was helpful and friendly, especially our young waiter at breakfastOur room, the “Dorset Suite”, was clean and spacious, with a very, very comfortable King bedThe included made to order breakfast was an excellent way to start each dayFinally, our in room hot tub was invaluable soothing our sore muscles after a five hour hike down “The Beast”We will definitely return

The Trailside Inn is a lovely venue, and I don’t often use the word “lovely” It’s in a great location, run by super nice people, and has so many positives Any possible negatives have been well documented in other reviews (walls are thin, yes; no TVs in room, so what

)If you are looking for a wedding venue this place must be amazing in the summer, but for us it was a perfect ski chalet complete with boot warmers, great breakfast, super comfy bed, and so much moreI am incredulous that anyone could leave less than a perfect review, especially since the innkeepers literally work 12 hours each a day, every dayI will definitely return and would even consider going back in the summer, just to experience it in a different seasonThank you Joshua and Ann for a great stay

Wonderful hosts, excellent location Peaceful get-away with with plenty of things to do near by Like covered bridges? Check

Like waterfalls? Check Food? Hiking? Shopping? Check!!! A dream wedding location and again, the hosts, Josh and Ann, tend to every detail Thank you for all you did to make my son and daughter-in-law’s beautiful wedding weekend special

One of the best weekends of my life Had a wedding here, and the owners went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfectIf you’re considering an event here, you should immeadiately choose Trailside for it

I could not possibly be happier with how everything turned out, and will make a point to return during ski season for more of the same environment

Beautiful place right on the lake The lakeside rooms are spacious, comfortable and well-appointed The available watercraft made for a perfect lakeside vacation

The pool was clean and great to enjoy after a hot summer dayWe came for a wedding and it is a great combination of casual and gorgeous Everyone looks great in the beautiful light and being simply in a place where you relax and breathe

Terenia Benedict

I was very pleased with my one-bedroom condo The place was spotless The towels were nice and thick and the bed was very comfortable

Great water pressure and lots of hot water I take very hot showers and the water temperature at the end of my shower was the same as at the beginning The cookware was a bit dated, but certainly functional The coffee they provided was delicious, I thought The staff were very friendly and very helpful I was there at the beginning of the week when the restaurant was closed so I can’t comment on the food I was in town for a funeral which unfortunately didn’t happen because a family member came down with Covid Whenever we reschedule I will most likely stay here again

Shannon Emmons

I was a guest at a wedding held there The atmosphere was rustic with a perfect lakeside service and reception was across the street, on the 2nd floor of the restaurant/taproom Beautiful view of lake off the balcony

The staff I found to be very friendly and accommodating I had the Shrimp Scampi and thought it was delicious My husband had the Roasted Chicken and thought it was pretty good as well

Sharing is caring!
